I am seeking to raise donations for my trip and hospital stay while at The Cleveland Clinic.

I’m Clance Lewis, Jr. of Federal Way, WA and I’m writing on behalf of myself. My home phone number is (253) 874-2224.

I have been receiving kidney dialysis 3 to 4 days a week at my home since 2001. I’ve been working at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle WA since 2002. I’m also in the last stage of a liver disease as well. I’m in need of a double organ transplant.

In December, I plan to have both transplants at the Cleveland Clinic located at 9500 Euclid Avenue in Cleveland Ohio. My current healthcare plan will provide enough to cover 60 percent of the needed surgeries, and the other 40 percent is what I will have to pay for both pre and post op medications.

As for right now, I am seeking to raise donations for my trip and hospital stay while in Cleveland. I plan to stay in a hotel facility, after surgery, to recover for 6 to 8 weeks. The cost will be between $5,000 to $7,500 for the stay, and my trip back to Seattle. I’m hoping the recovery time will allow me to get to use my new organs and help me feel much better.

I’m writing this letter, because, perhaps you are in a better position in your life, and may be able to help me. I appreciate your time for reading this, and any help you can assist me with, I will be greatly appreciative.

The operation will provide me with a second chance at life. If you would like to contact me, you may do so. Again, my phone number is (253) 874-2224. My PAYPAL Donation account is here: Click here to Donate to Clance Lewis Jr . You can also help if you care to share my story.

You can send me a personal email at this address clancelewis2ndlife@gmail.com

Thanking you, I am

Clance Lewis, Jr.

What is an Organ Transplant?

Organ transplantation is the moving of a organ from one body to another, or from a donor site on the patient’s own body, for the purpose of replacing the recipient’s damaged or absent organ. The emerging field of Regenerative medicine is allowing scientists and engineers to create organs to be re-grown from the patient’s own cells (stem cells, or cells extracted from the failing organs.) Organs and/or tissues that are transplanted within the same person’s body are called autografts. Transplants that are performed between two subjects of the same species are called allografts. Allografts can either be from a living or cadaveric source.

Organs that can be transplanted are the heart, kidneys, liver, lungs, pancreas, intestine, and thymus. Tissues include bones, tendons (both referred to as musculoskeletal grafts), cornea, skin, heart valves, and veins. Worldwide, the kidneys are the most commonly transplanted organs, while musculoskeleletal transplants outnumber them by more than tenfold…
